Waitata Bay is in Pelorus Sound which is part of the Marlborough Sounds at the top of the South Island of New Zealand. The Marlborough Sounds are a large network of ancient drowned valleys caused by centuries of uplift and subsidence.
Scenic access by road, boat, mailboat, water taxi, floatplane or helicopter. (heli location number is 1090). We are approximately 2 1/2 hours by road from Blenheim or Nelson and 3 1/2 hours from Picton.
